"Pikachu is the best one. That's just facts." — Foot, settling a debate that did not need settling but was settled nonetheless
⚡ The Devotion to Pikachu
Foot's relationship with Pokémon is extensive, encyclopaedic, and serious. He knows the types, the weaknesses, the evolution chains, the base stats, and the lore behind every entry in the Pokédex. This knowledge was not acquired through any formal study. He simply absorbed it because he cared.
But above all of this — above the knowledge, above the gameplay, above the trading cards kept in careful order in a binder — there is Pikachu.
Foot has been asked, many times, why Pikachu specifically. He has given the same answer every time: "Because Pikachu is the best one." When pressed for detail, he clarifies: "The best one." No further breakdown has ever been provided, and none appears to be forthcoming.
Most people, upon reflection, find this completely reasonable.
📚 The Extent of Foot's Knowledge
The Car Journey
On a car journey of approximately one hour and forty minutes, Foot recited 150 Pokédex entries from memory. Nobody asked him to. He began at number one and worked his way through in order. The car was quiet when he finished. Then someone said "that was actually really impressive." Foot said "I know" and looked out the window.
Type Matchups
Foot can tell you the type matchup between any two Pokémon without hesitation. He has never been wrong. A classmate once tried to catch him out with an obscure dual-type question. Foot answered immediately, correctly, and then went back to what he was doing. The classmate has not tried again.
The Lore
Foot is aware of Pokémon lore at a level that goes well beyond the games. He knows the mythological backstory of the legendary Pokémon, the regional variants, and the implications of certain Pokédex entries that other players tend to skim past. He finds all of it interesting. He finds Pikachu the most interesting.
The Cards
Foot keeps a binder. The binder is organised. The organisation system has been described as "thorough" and "personal — he explained it once but it went quite fast." Every card is sleeved. The Pikachu cards have their own section. The section is, proportionally, quite large.

🏛️ Pokémon Debates Foot Has Settled
Foot listened to the debate for approximately 90 seconds, then said "it depends on the game." He then gave a specific answer for each game in the series. The debate did not resume.
Foot said "a bit, but that's not Charizard's fault." Everyone agreed this was fair. Nobody had thought to frame it that way before.
Foot named one immediately, recited the entry word for word, and then looked around at the silence that followed. He said "I warned you." He had not warned anyone. He said it anyway.
Foot gives a genuine, technically accurate answer every time this question is asked. He does not simply say yes. He engages with the matchup seriously. This is more respect for the question than most people give it, and it is appreciated.
